Soil Science Australia (WA Branch) invites you to the first WA Boodja Soil Science Lecture. Boodja is a Noongar word for ‘land’ and the lecture series acknowledges the important role of aboriginal understanding in the responsible management of the soil and land.

The society is honoured to have the former Governor-General, Major General the Hon. Michael Jeffery, AC, AO (Mil), CVO, MC (Retd), Chairman of Future Directions International,  present the inaugural lecture in this series.

General Jeffery was appointed to the role of Advocate for Soil Health by the Prime Minister in 2012 to help raise public awareness of the critical role soil plays in underpinning sustainable productivity, and of the importance of taking an integrated approach to the management of soil, water and vegetation.
